About Dr. Bertram

BertramH. MORTON BERTRAM III, MD, is a Board-Certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in total joint replacement (TJR), and founder of the Bertram Total Joint Centers in Naples, Florida.

Throughout his 15-year career, Dr. Bertram has worked to improve the techniques and technologies for treating joint pain. Today he is known nationally and internationally for his expertise in total joint replacement surgery and has been instrumental in developing new devices for joint surgery.

Patients come from a wide geographic area for consultations and surgery with Dr. Bertram. As a matter of fact, Johnny Bench, the hall of fame baseball player, came to Naples and had Dr. Bertram perform hip replacement procedure using the latest ceramic-on-ceramic articulation. Please see Johnny's testimonial on the website. Surgeons travel from around the world to observe his techniques and learn from his comprehensive approach to joint replacement.

Professional golfer Peter Jacobson, a 2004 USGA Senior Open Champion, required a surgeon with a reputation for exceptional results. Reviewing his United States-based options led Jacobson to decide to have his hip replacement performed by Dr. Bertram. Peter Jacobson was hitting golf balls and was back on the green in an amazing three weeks postoperative.

Dr. Bertram joined the prestigious American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons Society in 2007. This society is made up for physicians and surgeons that have a subspecialty in hip and knee replacement. Dr. Bertram is the only physician practicing orthopedics in Collier Country to be a member of this society.

Dr. Bertram’s clinical achievements and high levels of patient satisfaction recently led to his being named one of the "Best Doctors in America."
